(EN) We are pleased to present In Love with Love, a solo exhibition by the Spanish artist Noemi Iglesias at Verduyn in Moregem, Belgium.
In In Love with Love, Noemi Iglesias explores romantic love in a digital era, critiquing the commodification of emotions and relationships through the lens of consumer culture. She juxtaposes idealized notions of love propagated by social media and consumerism against the backdrop of toxic relationships in today’s shifted dynamics of love. As a result, her works are visually striking yet imbued with a profound critique of how love is manufactured and sold in contemporary society.
Noemi Iglesias is best known for her multidisciplinary practice incorporating digital technologies and long- durational performative formats finding new intersections in experimental disciplines. Lauded for her innovative integration of ceramics and porcelain in contemporary art, Iglesias is one of the leading artists in the ceramic Renaissance the contemporary art world is witnessing this very day. Her oeuvre is marked by extensive travel and residencies across the globe—living in Spain, Greece, Finland, Italy, the United Kingdom, Hungary, China, Korea, and Taiwan—feeding of various cultural encounters and making her work a confluence of cultural observations and technical mastery.
Born in 1987 in Spain, Noemi Iglesias studied at the University of the Basque Country Fine Arts in Bilbao, Spain, and the Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan. Notable institutional solo exhibitions encompass the Thyssen- Boremisza Museum Madrid in Spain, The Fine Arts Museum Asturias, the Anton Sculpture Museum in Spain, the Instituto Jovellanos Cultural Center in Spain, and the Laboral Art and Industrial Creation Center in Spain, among others. Her works are featured in various renowned collections, including Callia Foundation, Studiolo Collection, ACB collection, Unicaja Foundation, Los Bragales Art Collection, Gimhae Clavarch Museum, and the Arctic Cermacis Center, with group exhibitions at the D+T +ARTS exhibition, DG Connect, The IMAL Art Center for Digital Culture and Technologies in Belgium, DKV Art Collection, Gimhae Clayarch Museum, Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Aichi Prefectural Museum, to name just a few. The Spanish artist has received individual honors and grants from theEuropean Digital Dezl recognition from Ars Electronica in Austria, LXI Faenza International Ceramics Award, the Yingge Ceramics Biennale, the El Vendrell Ceramics Biennale, the LI Luarca National Arts Awards, the CERCO International Ceramic Contest, the Alcora International Ceramic Contest, and more. Noemi Iglesias has been an artist in residence at the Taoxichuan Jingdezhen International Studio in China, the Bilbao Arte Foundation in Spain, the Gimhae Clayarch Museum in Korea, the Arctic Ceramics Center in Finland, the International Ceramics Studio in Hungary, and more.

(NL) We zijn verheugd om In Love with Love te presenteren, een solotentoonstelling van de Spaanse kunstenaar Noemi Iglesias in Verduyn in Moregem, België.
In In Love with Love onderzoekt Noemi Iglesias romantische liefde in een digitaal tijdperk, waarbij ze kritiek uitoefent op de commercialisering van emoties en relaties door de lens van de consumentencultuur. Ze plaatst geïdealiseerde noties van liefde die worden gepropageerd door sociale media en consumentisme naast elkaar tegen de achtergrond van giftige relaties in de huidige verschoven dynamiek van liefde.
